Waldschänke Grieshaus | Events & Tickets
The Waldschänke Grieshaus - Katharina Erlmeier is located in Grieshaus near Moos in the Deggendorf district and combines a tavern, beer garden, and excursion destination in a way that makes immediate sense in searches related to events, tickets, access, and parking. The official address is Grieshaus 1, 94554 Moos; the tourism association describes the place as a wonderful beer garden close to the confluence of the Isar, as a stopover on cycling and hiking tours, and as a family-friendly destination with an adventure playground. The municipality of Moos mentions snacks as a culinary offering, Tuesday as a day off, and playground and wooden bowling alley as additional features. This combination of hospitality, connection to nature, and local festival culture makes the Waldschänke Grieshaus a location that is relevant for both local guests and day-trippers. Those searching here are usually looking for more than just an address: they seek orientation, practical benefits, regional atmosphere, and specific indications of whether a visit is worthwhile for a spontaneous stop, a family outing, or a local event date. Events and Tickets at Waldschänke Grieshaus
The most important search topic for this location is clearly the interplay of events and tickets. The Waldschänke Grieshaus is not a classic large event venue with a central, constantly visible ticket shop in the researched sources, but rather a lively meeting point for local dates, club evenings, and regional festivals. The municipality of Moos explicitly lists it as a place for the shepherd's festival and Hopferzüpfer festival, and in current event lists, the Waldschänke also appears as a venue. This is important for SEO logic because those searching for "events" or "tickets" often actually want to know what kind of event is taking place there, whether admission is required, and where to find the information. The most reliable answer is therefore: Specific tickets depend on the respective organizer, not on a unified Waldschänke ticket portal. This is how the found entries also appear in practice, for example, at local political or social events and seasonal festivals. ([gemeinde-moos.de](https://www.gemeinde-moos.de/kultur-freizeit-tourismus/gaststaetten/))
For content planning, it is also important that the Waldschänke Grieshaus is strongly associated with community and tradition in regional perception. This is not just a nice phrase, but can be clearly read from the sources: The municipality mentions traditional festivals, and event calendars list the location as a meeting point for regular gatherings. For example, in 2026, the place is mentioned for an SPD regulars' table on April 19, 2026, and a Hopfenzupfer festival with Heibod’n Musi is scheduled for September 6, 2026. Such entries show that the Waldschänke is not only a place to eat but also a social venue. Therefore, those looking for tickets should not hope for a single central page, but should check the respective event entry. For visitors, this means: The Waldschänke is particularly interesting for local, manageable formats with immediate atmosphere, not for anonymous mass event operations. This makes it relevant for search engines for terms like "events", "tickets", "dates", and "local events" alike. ([spd-moos.de](https://spd-moos.de/?utm_source=openai))
Access, Parking, and Location at the Isar Confluence
The location is one of the strongest SEO levers of this venue because it works both practically and scenically. The official address is Grieshaus 1, 94554 Moos, and several sources emphasize its proximity to the Isar confluence. This is particularly valuable for visitors because the Waldschänke serves as a destination for walks, cycling tours, and nature excursions. The municipality describes a tour on its cycling paths pages that leads directly past the Waldschänke and even specifies: Park the car at Grieshaus. From there, one can continue towards the dam or, depending on the route, head towards the Isar confluence. Thus, the term "parking" is not just general marketing but a genuine practical search term with concrete added value. Those arriving by car find a clear starting point for tours here; those arriving by bicycle have a logically placed stop on their way. ([gemeinde-moos.de](https://www.gemeinde-moos.de/kultur-freizeit-tourismus/radwege/))
Especially helpful is the connection to the Isar Confluence Information Center because it shows how well the Waldschänke is integrated into the regional excursion network. The Isar Confluence Information Center - Dr.-Georg-Karl-Haus is the starting point for walks through the Isar meadows and is connected to the local and regional cycling network. It is located in the same natural setting that makes the Waldschänke so attractive as a beer garden location. The tour description of the Bavarian Thermal Landscape even states that one can reach the idyllic Grieshaus via a staircase from the access road and then continue to the confluence. For search queries like "access" and "parking", this is a clear advantage: The location is not hidden but functionally embedded in a well-known hiking and cycling structure. Additionally, the tourism association mentions an e-bike charging station, which further underscores its significance for modern day visitors. Therefore, those looking for a well-combinable excursion find here an address that combines hospitality, mobility, and nature experience. ([gemeinde-moos.de](https://www.gemeinde-moos.de/kultur-freizeit-tourismus/infozentrum-isarmuendung/))
Facilities, Beer Garden, and Seating Capacity
Regarding seating capacity, sources show that the Waldschänke Grieshaus offers ample space both indoors and outdoors, although the published numbers vary depending on the source. The municipality of Moos mentions a guest room with 20 seats, a side room with 50 seats, and a beer garden. The East Bavaria Tourism Association, on the other hand, describes two indoor areas with 24 and 45 seats, as well as a beer garden with 350 seats. This discrepancy is even interesting for SEO because it suggests that different counting methods or partial areas are being recorded. Therefore, the text should not rigidly claim just one number but should clearly state: There are multiple indoor areas and a very large beer garden, which makes the location particularly attractive for day-trippers. This keeps the content accurate and trustworthy. ([gemeinde-moos.de](https://www.gemeinde-moos.de/kultur-freizeit-tourismus/gaststaetten/))
The beer garden is more than just an addition; it is the actual visual and functional centerpiece of the location. The tourism association speaks of a wonderful beer garden close to the Isar confluence and mentions self-service as the form of service. This fits perfectly with a stop where people want to remain flexible after a tour and do not necessarily seek a formal restaurant format. The municipality adds snacks as a culinary offering, which further sharpens the profile as an uncomplicated, regional stop. For a search intention like "best seats", this is relevant because the most attractive spots are likely to be outside in the beer garden, especially for guests who prefer peace, nature, and short distances to play opportunities. Additionally, the e-bike charging station shows that the Waldschänke is not only traditional but also contemporary and practical. The place thus does not feel like a mere tavern but like a versatile resting point clearly oriented towards day visitors, families, and regional excursionists. ([gemeinde-moos.de](https://www.gemeinde-moos.de/kultur-freizeit-tourismus/gaststaetten/))
Cuisine, Self-Service, and Practical Information for the Visit
The culinary logic of the Waldschänke Grieshaus is deliberately down-to-earth. The municipality mentions snacks as an offering, and the tourism association adds self-service. This is no coincidence but a clear indication of visitor behavior: Those stopping here often come directly from a cycling or hiking tour, may stay for an afternoon break, and seek an uncomplicated refreshment rather than a long menu. The day off is Tuesday. This is important information because many visitors specifically search for opening hours, days off, and whether a spontaneous visit makes sense. Although no continuous daily opening hours are mentioned in the researched sources with the same level of detail, the operational logic is still well graspable: Monday and the other days are used in the context of hospitality and excursions, while Tuesday remains closed. For search engines, this type of practical orientation is valuable because it indirectly answers user signals like "opening hours", "snacks", and "self-service". ([gemeinde-moos.de](https://www.gemeinde-moos.de/kultur-freizeit-tourismus/gaststaetten/))
Practically important is also that the Waldschänke functions not only as a gastronomic location but as part of a network of paths and excursions. The municipality describes a tour from the Waldschänke to the Isar confluence and back; the Bavarian Thermal Landscape adds the route along the dam crown, floodplain forest, and confluence landscape. For visitors, this means: A stay can be easily combined with movement in nature without much planning effort. This location is particularly suitable for guests looking for a simple, reliable stop before or after exploring the Isar meadows. This fits very well with the typical search terms around a location like this, as "description", "access", "parking", and "cuisine" are really just different facets of the same user intention: Is there a pleasant, uncomplicated place where one can stop? The existing facts clearly speak in favor of this. ([gemeinde-moos.de](https://www.gemeinde-moos.de/kultur-freizeit-tourismus/radwege/))
Family-Friendly Highlights: Playground, Wooden Bowling Alley, and Nature Experience
For families, the Waldschänke Grieshaus is particularly interesting because it connects several functional levels. The municipality of Moos explicitly mentions the playground and wooden bowling alley as special features. The tourism association describes even more vividly that a great adventure playground is just around the corner. This is a strong signal for search intentions related to family-friendly locations. It is not just about eating and drinking, but about an environment where children can be engaged while adults can relax at the same time. This combination is invaluable in rural excursion destinations because it facilitates spontaneous visits and makes longer stays more likely. Therefore, those searching for "playground" will find here not just a mere footnote but a genuine feature of the location. The same applies to the wooden bowling alley, which brings a traditional, almost nostalgic recreational value and distinguishes the Waldschänke from many arbitrary beer gardens. ([gemeinde-moos.de](https://www.gemeinde-moos.de/kultur-freizeit-tourismus/gaststaetten/))
The family-friendly quality is further enhanced by the natural setting. Proximity to the Isar confluence means not only beautiful views but also a direct connection to the floodplains, the information center, and walking or cycling paths. The information center itself describes an exhibition of around 250 m², outdoor facilities of about 7.7 hectares, and a discovery walk through the Isar floodplain. These facts are relevant for the Waldschänke because they show how to expand the visit: first discover nature, then stop for a meal, and perhaps take a short walk to the playground or beer garden afterwards. This creates added value for families, groups, and hikers. Additionally, the Waldschänke appears in tourist and event-related contexts, such as during a hiking-related stop or in entries for regional festivals. This makes it clear: The location is not just a restaurant but part of a larger, vibrant recreational area in Moos. Therefore, those looking for a combination of nature, child-friendliness, and local atmosphere will find a very clear answer in the Waldschänke Grieshaus.
Beautiful excursion spot. Very nice landlady. I walked here with my dog from Isarhaus, about 7 kilometers as a dam loop. The inn itself is cozy and rustic inside, just like it used to be, and there's a lovely beer garden outside for the summer months. Charming decorations beautify everything around here.

Very well located for bike tours. Great spot for a break while cycling. Highly recommend for bottled drinks. I have to say I had some issues with the draft drinks here, as my daughter's glass of water smelled distinctly of salad. Unfortunately, I didn't find the cleanliness very impressive. The beer garden was the beer garden of the year in 1989 (it's hanging up there)... that was a long time ago.

On our hike to the Isar estuary, we passed the rustic forest tavern with its cozy beer garden and had a cheese platter and a meat jelly as a snack. Next to the beer garden, there's a nice adventure playground with equipment for the kids. Highly recommend a visit!

Very nicely located gastro establishment. It has a bit of a character between a snack bar and a beer garden. Mainly aimed at cycling tourists. The food was hearty, affordable, and very tasty. Very friendly staff.
