Bürgersaal Plattling | Events & Tickets

The Bürgersaal Plattling combines modern architecture with historical substance and has developed into a vibrant cultural center of the city since its inauguration in 2023. Located at Werkstraße 19, the glass new building bridges the renovated, listed brick community center from the 19th century and today's event landscape. With 480 m² of hall space, the Bürgersaal offers ideal conditions for concerts, theater, galas, club and city events. Its proximity to the train station facilitates access via public transport, and proven parking options are available around the train station area. The program is communicated through the city's ticket shop and the channels of the cultural office, ensuring that interested parties can quickly find events ranging from classical to shows. Thoughtful equipment, flexible seating, and the inviting glass facade create an atmosphere that provides a stage for both professional productions and community-oriented formats.

Events, Program, and Tickets at Bürgersaal Plattling

The event calendar reflects the diversity of the Bürgersaal. Tour and guest performances complement municipal series and local initiatives. For example, in 2024, a rock classic evening like The Magic of Queen, performed on Saturday, April 27 in Plattling, demonstrated that the hall is also well-suited for audience-strong shows. In 2025, a range of demanding concert formats followed, such as the Mozart Dinner Concert on Friday, March 28, where a multi-course menu and music from Mozart's works were combined in the festively set hall. Regional cultural associations regularly use the stage, as shown by the Autumn Classic and Wine Enjoyment in September 2025, where a renowned orchestra performed with a soloist. Recurring highlights in the local event calendar also include representative city and community formats, such as competition presentations or citizen balls, which utilize the hall as a central meeting and celebration venue. Seasonal events also shape the profile, including the New Year's Eve gala, which took place on December 31, 2024, in the Bürgersaal, culturally and culinarily staging the turn of the year.

The Bürgersaal holds particular significance as an alternative venue for the Plattling Artists' Summer: When the open-air events on Magdalenenplatz must be relocated due to bad weather, the Bürgersaal guarantees that dates can take place as planned. This interplay of indoor and outdoor venues strengthens planning and audience-friendliness. For visitors, this means they should consider short-term notices in the city's event calendar or through the Heimat Info App. Ticket procurement is comfortably organized: The city's ticket shop displays events with location, date, time, and availability, including for the Bürgersaal at Werkstraße 19. Additionally, tickets can be obtained through the cultural office of the city of Plattling. The counter hours are reliably posted, typically Monday to Thursday mornings and afternoons, as well as Friday mornings. Since the Bürgersaal is used as a multifunctional venue, interested parties will find a mix of classical music, theater, readings, dance evenings, and celebrations. For larger cultural series, guest performances, and club celebrations, the hall space with modern stage and media technology offers the necessary flexibility.

Address, Directions, and Parking at Werkstraße 19

The Bürgersaal Plattling is located at Werkstraße 19 in the urban area, which is historically closely connected to the railway. For train travelers, orientation is simple: The Plattling train station is the central hub on-site and is located at Bahnhofplatz 6. From there, visitors can walk towards Werkstraße. Thanks to its convenient location, the Bürgersaal is also suitable for guests from the region arriving by regional trains and long-distance connections via the Plattling junction. Those using a car will find several designated parking areas around the train station. The P1 parking lot on Lagerhausstraße with about 120 parking spaces and all-day opening hours has proven to be effective. Rates have been published for this lot, providing a user-friendly short-term and daily parking option. Additionally, there is a parking lot at Bahnhofstraße 22 with around 110 parking spaces, which is usually free for a limited time. In both cases, as everywhere, the note to pay attention to current signage applies, as rules regarding parking duration or fees can be dynamically adjusted.

In addition to the parking spaces at the train station, there is city information on centrally located parking options, showing how well the city center is overall developed. This overview is helpful when particularly in-demand events are taking place in the Bürgersaal and immediate parking space is more occupied. Thanks to clear pathways between the train station, Werkstraße, and city center, orientation remains uncomplicated. Those who require barrier-free paths for organizational reasons can plan a short route from the train station or from the designated parking areas. The integration of the Bürgersaal into the existing transport network is thus another advantage of the location. For groups arriving by coach, it is advisable to coordinate with the organizer in advance to sensibly coordinate stopping points or temporary pick-up and drop-off zones. Accessibility by bike is also given, as Werkstraße and the city center axes in Plattling are well connected to the local path network.

Facilities, Hall, and Opportunities for Organizers

Architecturally, a striking glass facade characterizes the new building, bringing transparency and daylight into the interior and making the Bürgersaal a modern eye-catcher. The hall area of approximately 480 m² can be configured for different formats, from classic row seating to banquets to standing events. As a multifunctional cultural and community center, the Bürgersaal is equipped with contemporary media technology for speech, music, and scenic presentations. This includes sound systems, lighting control, and projection options that cover the spectrum from ceremonial events to concerts. A powerful catering kitchen and a bar are integrated into the usage concept, allowing for both break catering and festive menus. This infrastructure is relevant not only for guest performances but also makes the location attractive for city-level conferences, club anniversaries, receptions, gala evenings, or dance events.

What is special about the Bürgersaal is its embedding in a building complex that visibly brings together old and new. The new building serves as a connecting element between two historical brick buildings. This results in an urban and architectural composition in which the hall acts as a lighthouse of today's cultural life while simultaneously honoring the history of the place. For organizers, the spatial structure means that adjacent rooms, foyer areas, and the surroundings can be cleverly utilized, for example, for artist support, ticket areas, receptions, or exhibition spaces. The modern equipment is the result of targeted funding, which includes not only furniture such as multifunctional table and chair systems but also technical equipment and seminar rooms. These investments create professional conditions that are noticeable in operation: short conversion times, solid acoustics, and good sightlines for the audience. In practice, the flexibility is evident in that evening symphonies, scenic readings, cabaret, or dance events can function in the same room.

History, Architecture, and the Community House Plattling

The Bürgersaal is part of a project that has newly profiled the location at Werkstraße 19. In addition to the new building itself, the historical community house, a brick building from the 19th century, has been restored in accordance with monument protection. This creates an ensemble that picks up on the industrial and railway-related history of the district and translates it into contemporary use. The new building with its glass architecture connects the old buildings and makes the complex a prominent place of contemporary urban culture. The official inauguration took place in May 2023, after construction activities were completed. Funding frameworks contributed significantly to the success: For equipment elements such as media and seminar technology, flexible furnishings, and kitchens, funds from the EU program Leader were approved. Additionally, urban development funding in the program Living Centers flowed in, which supports inner development and the strengthening of city centers. These funds provided the framework for the project to create not just a hall but an identity-forming community space.

Especially characteristic is the connection to the railway past. From a former railway operating environment, a stage for clubs, education, culture, and social events has emerged. The glass surfaces used in the new building emphasize the openness of the house and create visual connections between the inside and outside. This aesthetic decision is more than just design, as it ensures a bright spatial feeling and places events in just the right light. The community house complements this with its brick charm and historical context. Thus, an ensemble is created that convinces from both the outside and the inside. Feedback from the region emphasizes the special role of the location as a new architectural highlight in the urban area. Thoughtful pathways, an arrangement of rooms with foyer and adjacent areas, as well as technical upgrades ensure that the facility is sustainably viable for urban society and cultural operations. The combination of monument protection and new construction demonstrates how careful renewal in existing structures can visibly advance a city.

New Year's Eve Gala, Children's Carnival, and Typical Event Formats

Typical for the program in the Bürgersaal is the mix of high-quality cultural evenings and community-oriented celebrations. The New Year's Eve gala 2024 shows that the hall is also used for festive year-end events where culture and culinary arts come together. On the other hand, family-friendly formats such as the children's carnival, which took place on February 11, 2024, in the Bürgersaal, characterize these events with dance, music, supporting programs, and proximity to the local community. Regular concerts also take place in between, each bringing its own atmosphere to the space, from classical chamber music to popular concert shows. Guest performances by touring ensembles, such as a Queen program with a band and singer, highlight the suitability for intensified music productions. The functional kitchen and bar make it possible to implement culinary event concepts like a dinner concert, which further enhances the quality of stay in the hall.

Another feature is the integration with the city's cultural annual cycle. When open-air series like the Plattling Artists' Summer are relocated due to weather conditions, the Bürgersaal serves as a reliable indoor option. This flexibility maintains planned dates and ensures that audiences and artists do not have to expect last-minute cancellations. The location is also attractive for clubs and initiatives: community balls, anniversaries, award ceremonies, or theater evenings can be realized with relatively little effort in the hall. Those planning a special project should coordinate the timing early with the cultural office, as attractive weekends are quickly booked. Depending on the event, contingents for discounts, such as for club members, are indicated in the ticket shop. Individual announcements also mention a separate contact option for wheelchair spaces. Overall, the diversity shows that the Bürgersaal fulfills both artistic ambitions and the social function of a community house, thereby strengthening the local cultural landscape broadly.

Seating Plan, Accessibility, and Visitor Services

The Bürgersaal is designed as a multipurpose room. Therefore, there is no rigid hall plan; rather, the seating is adapted to the requirements of the format. In classical concerts, row seating predominates, while tables and banquet variants are added for galas, and standing places are possible for club or show formats. This flexibility has advantages for sightlines and proximity to the stage, as the arrangement can be optimized based on the event. For visitors, this means: A look at the respective entry in the ticket shop is worthwhile, as there are seat categories and available contingents listed there. Depending on the event, numbered seats, free seating, or mixed forms are provided. In general, the entry time is also published, which facilitates individual travel planning.

Regarding accessibility: The location at Werkstraße 17 to 19 is considered wheelchair accessible. Seats for wheelchair users are allocated depending on the event. In some announcements for concerts in Plattling, contact for wheelchair spaces is explicitly recommended, including a phone number for city communication. Those needing assistance or special seating requests should therefore register these in advance directly with the respective organizer or the cultural office. The service covers not only inquiries about tickets but also frequently includes information on directions, parking, and entry. As an additional visitor service, the city's event overview serves to inform early about relocations, for example, when program items of the Artists' Summer are moved from Magdalenenplatz to the Bürgersaal due to weather. The nearby train station is also helpful for mobility-impaired guests, as it allows for barrier-free access by train. For driving guests, the parking lots at the train station P1 and at Bahnhofstraße 22 offer reliable options. Overall, the equipment, flexible seating, and service make visiting the Bürgersaal manageable and comfortable.

The new Plattling community hall is beautifully designed. With the historic train station building next to it, the glass structure looks very modern, yet it fits in wonderfully. We were there for the 2nd concert ever held there, and the acoustics are fantastic. Everything is accessible, and there are more than enough parking spaces right in front. It was a lovely evening, big thanks to the organizers.

Great event location amidst renovated train station buildings. The entire former railway area around the community hall is an oasis for bees and bumblebees. Beautiful, diverse wildflower meadows everywhere. Big compliments to this small town in Lower Bavaria for this! Exemplary. Parking is easy. The building is on the ground level except for the stage. The glass walls are beautifully designed.
