City Library Deggendorf | Catalog & Opening Hours
The City Library Deggendorf is much more than a place for books: it combines traditional lending, digital offerings, events, and service functions in a modern library right in the city. Located at Rosengasse 10, it presents itself as a bright, contemporary meeting point for readers, families, students, and anyone seeking knowledge, entertainment, and orientation. The official website prominently features media search, catalog, renewal, user account, and current notices, while the city of Deggendorf describes the library as one of the architecturally remarkable new library buildings in Bavaria. The offerings are complemented by free Wi-Fi, information PCs, multimedia PCs, and a popular media lounge for young people. Therefore, those searching for the City Library Deggendorf online will find not only opening hours and contact details but also an institution that consciously brings together reading, learning, streaming, and encounters. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/))
Catalog, Login, and User Account
Those searching for city library deggendorf catalog or opac city library deggendorf usually want to know quickly how media search works and how to set up their own access. That’s exactly what the library's OPAC is for. The homepage clearly links to the entry point, allowing users to directly switch to search, renewals, and their own account. The catalog allows searching not only for traditional books but also for many other media and offerings, such as children's and young adult books, audiobooks, films, music CDs, console games, or events. This makes the OPAC a central tool for anyone looking to plan their library visit purposefully. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/))
Particularly practical is the login to the user account: According to the catalog, the user number is used as the login, along with the familiar password. After the first login, it is recommended to change the password to a personal one. Those who want to manage their media lists, loans, or acquisition suggestions continue to work directly in their personal account. The library also points out that registered readers can submit media requests in their account. This is a useful service for anyone missing specific titles in the collection or looking for literature for school, studies, or leisure. For SEO, this mix of catalog, login, user account, media request, and renewal is particularly relevant as it reflects the actual user intentions. ([sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net](https://sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net/cgi-bin/koha/opac-user.pl?utm_source=openai))
The internal structure of the catalog also shows how broad the City Library is set up. There are separate entries for children's library, youth library, and adult library, along with special search and browsing areas. The library thus relies on clear user guidance rather than a dry database interface. Those who just want to quickly see what has newly arrived will find a way just as easily as someone specifically searching for non-fiction books, novels, audiobooks, or films. This is an advantage, especially for families and frequent users, as the catalog allows not only searching but also discovery. The search term city library deggendorf login fits perfectly with a portal that makes access to the library very low-threshold digitally. ([sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net](https://sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net/))
Furthermore, the website and the catalog are not isolated from each other but are interconnected. The homepage visibly refers to media search, renewal, and account, making typical usage paths immediately accessible. For everyday life, this means: If someone wants to return a book, check a deadline, or reserve a title, they don’t need to take detours. The digital interface is designed for quick self-service, while the library on-site continues to offer personal advice. This combination of digital access and human service makes the catalog of the City Library Deggendorf so relevant for search queries with high usage intent. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/))
Onleihe, Blinkist PRO, and Digital Media
A particularly strong search topic is city library deggendorf onleihe, and for good reason: The library offers direct access to digital media such as eBooks, ePapers, eAudios, and eVideos through the Onleihe Niederbayern/Oberpfalz. These media can be borrowed around the clock and also from home. For users, this means maximum flexibility, as not only the physical collection of the library counts, but also a large digital offering remains available at any time. The city of Deggendorf explicitly describes the library as a place where digital works from the Onleihe are available for download. This makes the library a modern knowledge and media platform that sensibly combines traditional lending and streaming. ([sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net](https://sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net/))
However, the digital offerings go well beyond the Onleihe. On the catalog homepage, the City Library Deggendorf lists Blinkist PRO, filmfriend, Brockhaus, and Freegal Music+ as part of its electronic library. Blinkist PRO is available for library users free of charge and is aimed at anyone looking to acquire factual knowledge in a short form. Filmfriend offers streaming of films and series, Brockhaus provides verified knowledge for school, studies, and further education, and Freegal Music+ offers millions of songs and audiobooks for streaming and MP3 download. Particularly family-friendly is also TigerBooks, which makes digital stories accessible to children aged two to ten on smartphones and tablets. This way, the library covers an astonishingly wide range of digital reading, learning, and entertainment needs. ([sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net](https://sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net/))
For the search intent onleihe, it is also important how easy the entry is. The library points out that one can test the Onleihe with a trial access if they contact via email. This lowers the entry barrier for people who want to get to know digital media for the first time. At the same time, the offering shows that the library is not only digitizing traditional lending but also integrating learning and entertainment services. Especially Blinkist PRO, filmfriend, and Brockhaus target audiences looking for quick learning, cultural discovery, and reliable information alongside reading. This creates a modern library profile that goes far beyond the traditional image of a library. ([sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net](https://sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net/))
The growing importance of these digital services can also be seen in the current annual figures. The City Library reported a total of 213,206 loans for 2025, of which 39,340 were e-media loans. Additionally, the calls for virtual offerings like Brockhaus, filmfriend, freegal, and TigerBooks increased significantly. This confirms that digital use is no longer a marginal topic but a fundamental pillar of library everyday life. Therefore, those searching for city library deggendorf onleihe are not looking for an isolated function but for a whole ecosystem of e-media, streaming, knowledge, and further education. This is precisely where the strength of this library lies: it combines availability, currency, and user-friendliness on one platform. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/lesen-lernen-und-streamen))
Opening Hours, Registration, and Fees
When it comes to city library deggendorf opening hours, the question of daily accessibility is central, and here the library provides clear information. It is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays. These times are published on the homepage and on the detail page for opening hours, fees, and deadlines. For users, this means a well-planned service time, especially for afternoon visits, families, and working individuals. Current closing days are also announced on the website so that a visit can be prepared in time. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/))
Registration is also clearly regulated. Those who want to borrow media must first register. Adults need to bring an ID card, passport, or a registration certificate. Children and teenagers under 16 years should ideally be accompanied by a legal guardian or bring the completed registration form along with an ID or a copy of a guardian's ID. This process is deliberately kept simple but remains legally secure and transparent. For search queries like city library deggendorf login or city library deggendorf fees, this information is important as it shows what the path looks like from the first visit to active use. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/infos))
The fee structure is also understandable. The library card costs a one-time fee of 2.50 euros for adults and 1.50 euros for minors. For late returns, 0.50 euros per started week and medium are charged. Additionally, further fees may apply for reminders, retrievals, address investigations, damaged barcodes, or reservations. The library publishes these values in its fee and deadline overview as well as in the catalog interface. This is pleasant for users as there are no hidden costs and the most important amounts are transparently viewable. For SEO, the terms opening hours, fees, and library card are therefore particularly valuable as they reflect specific information needs with high relevance. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/oeffnungszeiten))
Moreover, the library also provides information on loan periods. Books, language courses, and audiobooks are usually borrowable for four weeks, magazines, CDs, and CD-ROMs for two weeks, and BluRays and DVDs for one week. Reference works and the latest magazines are excluded from lending. This structuring shows that the City Library Deggendorf sensibly organizes its media types according to usage duration. Those planning on-site or online thus benefit from clear rules and easily understandable deadlines. The interplay of opening hours, registration, fees, and loan periods makes the library particularly user-friendly for families, students, and occasional readers. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/oeffnungszeiten))
Renewal, Interlibrary Loan, and Acquisition Suggestions
An important search topic is city library deggendorf renewal, as many users want to conveniently keep their media online or by phone. The City Library Deggendorf allows exactly that: media can be renewed up to three times, either by phone or online. BluRays, DVDs, Tonies, and Edurinos can only be renewed once, and Onleihe media cannot be renewed at all. Here, too, it shows that the library offers a clear, practical service that considers both traditional media and digital lending systems. For practice, this means less stress with deadlines and more flexibility in dealing with borrowed titles. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/oeffnungszeiten))
The renewal rules fit well with the library's loan period structure. Books, language courses, and audiobooks can be used for four weeks, magazines, CDs, and CD-ROMs for two weeks, and BluRays and DVDs for one week. Therefore, those who regularly use media find a very transparent system here. This is particularly relevant for search queries aimed at self-management, as the library gives its members a lot of autonomy. The online account is not only a management tool but also a real service channel for everyday media use. Those who know the pressure of returns from everyday life understand quickly why the renewal function is among the most sought-after topics around the City Library. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/oeffnungszeiten))
The interlibrary loan is also a strong offering. If a desired medium is not available in the collection, the library orders it from another institution and makes it available for a limited time. The order can be placed via an online form. Fees apply for this service: 1.50 euros for students and pupils or 2.50 euros for adults per received medium or copy of a magazine article. Additional fees may apply for more than 20 copied pages. This is a valuable component, especially for research, school, and special topics, as it connects the local collection with the holdings of other libraries. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/oeffnungszeiten))
Additionally, the City Library Deggendorf accepts acquisition suggestions from the user account. This offering is available to registered readers and incurs a processing fee of 1.00 euro per medium. Therefore, if someone misses a book, film, or another medium, they can submit a suggestion and actively shape the collection. This function is particularly interesting for SEO as it shows that the library is not only managing but also developing further together with its community. In combination with renewal, interlibrary loan, and digital account, a service package emerges that appears very modern and customer-oriented for a city library. ([sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net](https://sb-deggendorf.lmscloud.net/?utm_source=openai))
Events, Newsletter, and Reading Culture
Those searching for city library deggendorf events find a library that is visibly alive and not just lending. Already on the homepage, the section What’s happening is highlighted, along with notices of current news, event links, and a newsletter that informs about innovations and upcoming dates. Thus, the City Library is an active cultural venue and not a quiet storage place for media. The website also shows that the library regularly offers formats like readings, participatory actions, swap markets, and thematic activities. Particularly nice is that these events address both literary and social topics, thereby appealing to different target groups. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/))
A good example is the crime book club. According to the official page, it meets every two months at the library to discuss the current book. This is a strong indication for readers that the library also functions as a social place where exchange and discussion are explicitly welcome. The club deals with crime novels, psychological thrillers, and literary suspense novels, showing how specifically targeted the library works. Those searching for events or reviews often mean exactly this mix of program, reading culture, and community. The City Library Deggendorf provides a clear and authentic framework for this. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/krimi-buchclub))
The news section also shows how diverse the program is. There are contributions to readings, a summer reading club, sustainability actions like seed swap markets and swap boxes, as well as further offerings for children, teenagers, and adults. The library thus relies not only on traditional literary events but also on topics like sustainable action, reading promotion, and digital education. This is ideal from an SEO perspective, as search queries for events, opening hours, and photos are often accompanied by the question of whether a location is truly lively and worth visiting. The answer here is clear: Yes, as the library convincingly links program, service, and everyday relevance. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/infos))
The newsletter sensibly complements this event profile, as it not only informs about dates but also about innovations. This is practical for regular users, families, and reading groups, as they do not have to constantly check what has been newly launched. Together with the catalog, the digital offerings, and the on-site events, a holistic communication approach emerges. The City Library Deggendorf is thus a place where one can read, learn, stream, discuss, and discover new things. This versatility explains why event-related search terms work so well for the library. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/))
Directions, Contact, and Facilities
For search queries like city library deggendorf phone number, photos, or directions, practical facts are crucial. The library is located at Rosengasse 10, 94469 Deggendorf. The central phone number is +49 991 2960 5199, and the email address is stadtbibliothek@deggendorf.de. These contact details are directly visible on the homepage and facilitate inquiries, reservations, or general information. Those wishing to visit the library can quickly find the direct line to the institution. This is especially important for first-time visitors who want to clarify opening hours, registration formalities, or digital services in advance. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/))
The facilities are also remarkable. The city of Deggendorf describes the City Library as one of the architecturally beautifully designed new library buildings in Bavaria. Inside, a modern library IT system, information PCs, multimedia PCs, and free Wi-Fi are available. Additionally, there is a media lounge that is particularly popular among young people. This combination of architecture, technology, and quality of stay is a real plus, as it makes the library not only functional but also atmospherically attractive. For photo research and visual impressions, this is relevant: The library appears open, bright, and contemporary. ([deggendorf.de](https://www.deggendorf.de/kunst-und-kultur/kultureinrichtungen/stadtbibliothek))
Another exciting aspect is the architectural development. According to an official contribution, the city library was completed in 1989; later, a renewal of the lighting took place, which was completed in 2020 with modern, networked LED technology. Such details show that the library has not stood still but has been continuously modernized. For visitors, this means a contemporary environment that fits well with both digital and analog usage forms today. Therefore, those searching for photos are usually interested not only in the building itself but also in the impression of a lively, well-maintained cultural and educational institution. This impression is convincingly conveyed by the City Library Deggendorf. ([stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de](https://stadtbibliothek.deggendorf.de/beleuchtungserneuerung-fertiggestellt))
The current usage figures also underscore the importance of this location. For 2025, the library reported over 213,000 loans and a significant increase in digital media and platforms. This shows that the institution is not only a beautiful place but above all an intensively used service point for the city. In connection with opening hours, catalog, Onleihe, events, and contact information, a very complete profile emerges. The City Library Deggendorf is thus a strong example of a modern municipal library that skillfully combines cultural visibility, digital reach, and local anchoring.

I visited the library for the first time today – even though I've loved reading my whole life. I'm more the type who collects books and puts them on the shelf rather than borrowing them. And honestly, I always thought there wouldn't be anything that really interests me. But I was really positively surprised! The selection is huge – from non-fiction to fantasy, current novels, mangas, and even Blu-rays, there's everything. I really didn't expect that. The staff at the reception was super friendly, and I found several books that totally match my taste right away. And it only costs 10 euros a year – honestly, that's almost a gift considering how much you get for it. One point off: The library could look a bit cozier in some places and the decor is rather outdated. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm really excited – I'll definitely come back!

Great for all age groups. There are plenty of topics that concern our little ones. Saying no, my body belongs to me, all people are valuable, etc. Also, "With 2 involved" is such a beautiful concept! Please keep it up. This is how you introduce kids to the world of books.

I've enjoyed going to the library for many decades. I've spent many lunch breaks there. The staff has always been very, very friendly, attentive, and helpful! The selection of books and magazines is great. The atmosphere is wonderful and the fees are absolutely reasonable. The city library in Deggendorf and the staff deserve more than just 5 stars!
